Once you know your Enneagram type, how do you apply insights from Enneagram map to really grow and create positive change in your life? This workshop will help you deepen your experience of the Enneagram of Personality through a mix of theoretical and experiential approaches as a powerful tool for personal and professional development. Once you have an understanding of the nine types—the nine sets of habitual patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving—you can further your growth journey by seeing how three core instinctual survival drives—for self-preservation, relating to social groups, and one-to-one bonding—play out in your life.
In all of us, our personality acts as a kind of self-limiting “default mode” of operating that can hold us back from our own liberation and higher potentials. Through gaining a clearer sense of how you can self-observe the interplay of your dominant (and repressed) instinctual drivers and your type’s “passion” or key emotional habit, you can more consciously liberate yourself from old ways of being and open a pathway to manifesting a more whole or higher expression of who you really are.
Beatrice Chestnut and Uranio Paes will present their specific approach to working with the instinct and subtype parts of the Enneagram system of personality, which is based on seminal Enneagram author Claudio Naranjo’s highly detailed descriptions of the 27 “sub-type” personalities. Bea and Uranio believe that Enneagram work should empower students of the system to make real progress in moving beyond the fixed perspective and hard-to-change tendencies associated with their personality patterns. Through lecture, videos, and panels of participants representing the different subtypes telling their stories, we will share a powerful experience of this enlightening and transformative aspect of the Enneagram map.
Direct involvement volunteering to do the more experiential or deeper activities will be optional for the participants. However, all participants will be asked to be open-minded and open-hearted as we invite them to learn more about how to face the challenges involved in doing the work we all need to do to grow beyond our personality patterns. And, be ready to be surprised with new concepts and ideas about yourself and the Enneagram.
